How to Manage a Kick Channel for a Team or Client Without Sharing a Password

By ADSSPEED Team · Published · Updated · 7 min read

Can a team or agency help run a Kick channel without the owner's password?

Yes, in two limited ways that Kick documents: Channel Owners can add Moderators to look after chat, and streamers can send agencies and brands a read-only media kit. The pages read (3 October 2026) describe no manager or editor role for stream settings, security or revenue. Kick also says an account is meant for a single user and that you should never share your password or stream key, so a shared login is not a supported route.

What can Moderators do, and what stays with the Channel Owner?

Kick's moderation guide says Streamers can assign moderation permissions to members of their community. Moderators can:

  • issue timeouts and bans to viewers;
  • deal with spam and remove messages;
  • change the chat mode (slow, followers-only, subscribers-only, emotes-only or an account age minimum);
  • run polls and look after pinned messages;
  • assist with Channel Points reward requests.

Kick reserves a few things for the Channel Owner: appointing and removing Moderators, handing out OG and VIP badges, and controlling the Multistreaming and KPP toggles, which exist only for KICK Partners.

To add a Moderator:

  1. In your own chat, type /mod followed by the username, or /unmod to remove one.
  2. Or on the web, open the Streamer Dashboard, expand Community in the left sidebar and choose Moderators.
  3. Click Add New, search for the Chatter and click Add. To remove someone, click Remove on the same row.

Moderators also get a web-only Moderator Dashboard with a stream preview, chat, an activity feed and the channel's moderation tools. When someone moderates more than one channel, a channel menu in the top-left corner switches between them, so one person can serve several channels from a single Kick account. The Mod Actions Feed logs who took each action, who the target was and when, covering events such as timeouts, deleted messages, blocked terms and mode changes. That is a built-in record of what your team did.

How do agencies and brands see a channel's numbers?

Kick calls a media kit a read-only, verified summary of how a channel performs, built from its own platform data. The streamer generates a link and sends it. The agency clicks it, and the kit opens in the browser; Kick says no account, sign-up or login is needed. It shows 30-, 60- and 90-day views of figures such as followers, concurrent and unique viewers and hours watched.

Two controls sit with the streamer. Links expire 30 days after they are generated, and the streamer can revoke a link at any time. Kick adds that, by design, the link works for anyone who holds it. So an agency does not need a login to assess a channel; it asks the streamer for a fresh link.

What should you lock down before a team gets involved?

  • The account email. Recovery requests ask for the email that used to be on the account, and appeals ask that the account email stay monitored during a review. Kick's profile page says the email can only be updated once every 60 days, so start with an address the owner controls.
  • Two-factor authentication. Turn it on and keep the backup codes in a password manager. Changing a username also requires 2FA.
  • The stream key. Kick's OBS guide is direct: "Anyone with your stream key can broadcast directly to your channel." You find it under Channel, then Stream URL and Key, in the Streamer Dashboard. Reset creates a new one, Kick does not keep the old one, and your streaming software must be updated afterwards.
  • Connected apps. Kick says to review the connections in your account settings and, if you see one you do not recognise, remove it and change your password. For tools built on Kick's developer API, the OAuth guide describes an approval step at Kick's authorisation server. Its scope list includes one that lets an app read the stream URL and key and another that lets it run ban and unban actions, so approve only what a tool needs.
  • Authority to act. The Terms say that if you open an account on behalf of a company or organisation, you represent that you are an authorised representative. For an appeal on a team-managed account, Kick asks for your name, your relationship to the holder, the holder's authorisation if possible and a clear statement of your role.

How do you off-board someone?

  1. Remove their Moderator role with /unmod or the Remove button on the Moderators page.
  2. If they ever held the account password, change it at kick.com/settings/security. Then review the email address, payment information and connected accounts, as Kick's recovery checklist says.
  3. Remove any connection you do not recognise.
  4. Reset the stream key and update your streaming software.
  5. If they held the 2FA phone, move 2FA. Kick's new-phone steps say to disable 2FA first (a current code is needed) and enable it again on the new device, saving the backup codes when you set it up.
  6. If you are unsure which sessions are open, contact Kick to request a sign-out of all devices.
  7. Write down the date and what you changed.

If the account itself is no longer needed, Kick says you can request deletion. It permanently removes the profile, following list, messages, clips and subscription history, so cancel subscriptions, save clips you want and, for streamers, withdraw any payout balance first.

What if something goes wrong?

You cannot sign in and did not change the passwordThe account may have been compromisedUse Forgot password, then follow the recovery checklist
Reset emails stop arriving after someone changed the emailKick calls a changed email a common sign of compromise and says reset messages will not reach youContact the Account Recovery Team with your username, previous email, creation date and past payment details
A team member's action led to a suspensionAppeals must come from the account holder, and Kick may verify directly with themInclude your name, relationship, the holder's authorisation and your role

Use only accounts you own or are authorised to manage, and follow Kick's rules; the rules guide covers sharing and ban evasion. For keeping each account in its own browser profile, see what a browser profile is.

Where ADSSPEED fits

ADSSPEED is a desktop app for Windows and macOS that manages many browser profiles. For teams that look after several Kick accounts they are authorised to manage, each account can sit in its own profile with its own cookies, local data and browser settings, opened, stopped and organised in bulk, with profile data kept on your own computer. It does not replace Kick's Moderator roles, 2FA or recovery steps. ADSSPEED is not affiliated with Kick.

Frequently asked questions

Can I give my team access to my Kick channel?

Kick documents Moderators, who are assigned by the Channel Owner and work from their own Kick accounts. The pages read describe no manager or editor role for stream settings, security or revenue, and Kick says never to share your password or stream key.

What can a Kick Moderator do?

According to Kick, Moderators can issue timeouts and bans, deal with spam and remove messages, change the chat mode, run polls, look after pinned messages and assist with Channel Points reward requests. Only the Channel Owner can appoint Moderators or hand out OG and VIP badges.

How do I add or remove a Moderator on Kick?

In your own chat, type /mod followed by the username to add and /unmod to remove. On the web you can also use the Streamer Dashboard: Community, then Moderators, then Add New, search for the Chatter and click Add. Remove uses the Remove button on the same row.

Can an agency see a streamer's Kick numbers without a login?

Yes, through a media kit. Kick describes it as a verified, read-only snapshot that opens in the browser from a link the streamer sends, with no Kick account needed. Links expire after 30 days and the streamer can revoke them at any time.

Should I share my Kick stream key with an editor or producer?

Kick says never to share it, because whoever holds the key can go live on your channel. If it has been shared, the Streamer Dashboard has a Reset button, and you then update your streaming software with the new key.

What should I do when a team member leaves?

Remove their Moderator role, change the password if they ever held it, review the email, payment information and connected accounts, remove unknown connections, reset the stream key and ask Kick for a sign-out of all devices if you are unsure which sessions are open.
