How to Manage Nextdoor Business, Agency and Ads Manager Accounts With a Team
How do you give a team access to a Nextdoor Business Page, an agency page or Ads Manager?
Each Nextdoor product has its own route. According to Nextdoor's pages (read 3 October 2026), Ads Manager uses invitations with roles, public agency pages use an Add Staff feature, and a Business Page is managed through a business account, with a Business Center FAQ that addresses sharing its login with authorised employees. Nextdoor's developer documentation also lists three profile types, Neighbor, Business and Public Agency, which is why a team member's personal neighbor account is a different thing from the page the team runs.
| Product | How people get access | Who can do it | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Business Page | A separate business account with its own email; the Business Center FAQ addresses sharing its login with authorised employees | An owner, employee or other authorised representative claims the page | Do not connect your personal account if the business login will be shared |
| Ads Manager (sign-up at ads.nextdoor.com) | Invite users from Business settings, with roles for each ad account | Only administrators of the ad account | An invited email already linked to another Nextdoor Ads account can cause problems |
| Public agency page | The Add Staff feature; each person creates a profile from a verification email | Administrators of the agency page | Personal and shared emails are not accepted in the application |
Business Page: a separate business account for the team
The Nextdoor pages read for this guide describe no separate roles for a Business Page. They describe a business account with its own login, and one clear warning. This is a paraphrase of the steps:
- Claim the page as an owner, employee or other authorised representative of the business, starting at business.nextdoor.com/local.
- Choose Sign Up under the green login button to create a business account that is not connected to your personal account. The Business Center blog says to use an email different from your neighbor account when several people will manage the business presence.
- Do not connect the personal account of whoever set it up if the login will be shared with authorised employees. Nextdoor gives that as an explicit caution.
- To add another Business Page later, sign in with the existing business account email and password.
Because this is a shared credential, treat it as one: keep it out of chat messages and keep a note of who has it. The pages read say nothing more about it, so this is general practice rather than a Nextdoor instruction.
Ads Manager: invite each person with a role
Nextdoor's Ads Manager page gives these steps for adding a user. They describe Ads Manager's web interface, whose sign-up page is ads.nextdoor.com:
- Log in to your Ads Manager account.
- Click your account profile at the top right of the page.
- Select Business settings from the drop-down menu.
- Select Users on the left.
- Click Invite users.
- Enter the person's name and the email address they will use to sign up for or log in to Ads Manager.
- Choose the roles the user should have for each of your ad accounts. Nextdoor gives Admin, Advertiser and Finance as examples.
- Select Send invite.
The invited person receives an email. Nextdoor says they can click the link and create a login, or use existing Nextdoor credentials tied to that email. If you are not an administrator, Nextdoor says to ask your current administrator to add people.
Public agency pages: apply, then add staff
Nextdoor says a local agency may have its own page if it is a fully-staffed, top-level department, and that some state agencies also qualify. Its goal is to process applications in under two weeks. It verifies the employment and email address of every applicant, and it does not allow personal emails such as staff@gmail.com or shared emails such as info@agency.com, so each applicant needs a personalised work email.
Once the page exists, administrators can invite colleagues with Add Staff and assign them to one service area, such as a ward or police district. Each person receives a verification email and creates their own profile. Staff do not have to use real names, though Nextdoor recommends it; department titles such as Communications and Team are allowed in the name fields.
Working for clients or several brands
- One advertiser per client. Nextdoor says Business Settings in Ads Manager is where you create new advertisers and manage which teams and users have access to each account.
- Expect to be asked. The Ad Policy, effective 1 April 2025, says you may be asked to provide verification if you advertise on behalf of a business you do not own. It also says your account or associated accounts must have no violation in the past 90 days. The wording read does not say what counts as an associated account, so ask Nextdoor if you run several advertisers.
- Keep promotion on the business side. Nextdoor's August 2026 post says promotion of a business must come from a free Business Page, not a personal neighbor account, so a team member should not use a personal account for client work.
- Keep sessions apart. One browser profile per client login keeps one client's session apart from another's. The general guide on client ad accounts covers handover and access across platforms.
Removing access when someone leaves, and what if it fails
| Situation | What Nextdoor says | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| A person leaves an ad account | Business Settings is where you add or remove user access | Remove them there, using an administrator login |
| An invitation will not work | Problems are often caused by an email already linked to another Nextdoor Ads account | Ask the administrator to invite a different address, or contact Nextdoor support |
| Someone leaves an agency page | The pages read do not describe removing staff | Ask the page administrator and check the Help Center |
| Someone leaves a shared business login | The pages read do not describe removing one person from it | As general practice, change the password and any recovery details on the account, and record the change |
Where ADSSPEED fits
ADSSPEED is a desktop app for Windows and macOS that manages many browser profiles. For a team, each Nextdoor login can sit in its own profile with its own cookies, local data and browser settings, so a business login, an Ads Manager login and a client's login can stay signed in side by side without signing each other out. Profiles can be opened, stopped and organised in bulk, a proxy can be set per profile and assigned to many profiles in bulk, and profile data is kept on your own computer. Use it only with accounts you own or are authorised to manage, and follow Nextdoor's rules. ADSSPEED is not affiliated with Nextdoor.
Frequently asked questions
How do I add a user to Nextdoor Ads Manager?
An administrator logs in to Ads Manager, opens the account profile at the top right, selects Business settings, then Users, then Invite users. Can more than one person manage a Nextdoor Business Page?
Nextdoor's Business Center blog says that if several people will help manage your business presence, you can create a separate business account with a different email from your neighbor account. Its FAQ also says not to connect your personal account if the business login will be shared with authorised employees.
How do I add staff to a Nextdoor agency page?
Nextdoor says administrators of the agency page can invite colleagues with the Add Staff feature and assign them to communicate in one service area, such as a ward or police district. Each staff member receives a verification email with a link to create their profile.
Can a marketing agency run Nextdoor ads for a client?
Nextdoor's Ad Policy says that if you advertise on behalf of a business you do not own, you may be asked to provide verification. In Ads Manager, Business Settings is where you can create new advertisers and manage which teams and users have access to each account.
How do I remove someone's access to Nextdoor Ads Manager?
Nextdoor describes Business Settings in Ads Manager as the place to manage which teams and users have access to each account and to add or remove user access. The page does not list the exact clicks for removal, so check Ads Manager or the Help Center for the current menu.
Do Nextdoor agency staff have to use their real names?
Nextdoor's public agency FAQ says no, but it recommends it. If you prefer, you can replace the name fields with department titles such as Communications and Team.
