How to Keep Several Pinterest Accounts Apart on One PC With Separate Browser Profiles
How do you keep several Pinterest accounts apart on one PC?
Give each account its own browser profile and log in to only that account there. Pinterest's own switcher, according to its Help Center (read 3 October 2026), works only while you stay in one browser session. A profile has its own cookies, so each profile is its own session and the accounts stop sharing one. New to the term? Start with what a browser profile is.
What does each approach keep apart?
| Item | Pinterest Connect accounts | Chrome profile | Firefox container |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cookies and sign-ins | Shared by every connected account in the browser session | Separate per profile | Separate per container |
| History and bookmarks | Shared | Separate per profile | Shared |
| Saved passwords | Not part of Pinterest's switcher | Kept separate, says Chrome | Not separated, by design |
| Two accounts open side by side | No, one active account is switched in the menu | Yes, in two profile windows | Yes, in two container tabs |
| Switching stops when cookies are cleared | Yes, Pinterest says so | Only for the profile that was cleared | Not covered by the pages read |
| Computer and internet connection | The same | The same | The same |
Microsoft says each Edge profile has its own browsing history, bookmarks and other data, so the Edge steps below follow the same pattern as Chrome's.
How do you set up one profile per account?
Chrome
- Select Profile, then Add Chrome profile.
- Choose a name, a photo and a colour scheme.
- In that window, open pinterest.com and log in to one account only.
- Repeat for the next account. Do not also use Add Pinterest account inside the same profile.
Chrome says that if you sign in with a Google Account in a profile, bookmarks, passwords and settings are saved to that account and can be used on other devices. For client work, decide whose account that should be.
Edge
- Select the profile icon at the top right, then Manage profile settings, then Add profile.
- Choose Add, then either sign in to sync your data or create the profile without data.
- Open pinterest.com in that profile and log in to one account.
Firefox
Install Mozilla's Multi-Account Containers add-on, make one colour-coded container per account, and open pinterest.com in that container's tab. The add-on says cookies from one container are not available to the others.
How should you name, hand over and back up profiles?
Naming. Put the brand first, then the Pinterest handle, then the owner, for example Acme Home | acmehome | Lan, and give every client a colour. Names such as Profile 3 are how the wrong account gets opened.
Hand-over. Pinterest's Community Guidelines tell users not to share their password or let anyone access their account, and its Terms say to keep the password secure and not disclose it. So hand over access, not logins. For a brand account, add the person in Business Manager and let them use their own login in their own profile; the business guide has the steps. When someone leaves, remove them there and delete their profile. In Chrome: Profile, Manage Chrome profiles, select it, More, Delete. Chrome warns that bookmarks, history, passwords and other settings are erased.
Backups. Three things differ:
- The inventory. Keep a list of each account's email, owner and two-factor phone number in your team's password manager. Pinterest says a phone number can be linked to only one account.
- The profile folder. Chromium's documentation says the user data directory holds history, bookmarks and cookies, with each profile in a subfolder. On Windows the default is
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Google\Chrome\User Data. Cookies make a copy as sensitive as a password. - The account itself. Pins and boards live with Pinterest. Pinterest says Pins cannot be moved between accounts in bulk, so keep access to each original account and its email.
Chrome also notes that anyone with access to your device can open another profile on it. A profile is organisation, not a lock.
When do ordinary profiles stop being enough?
| Sign | Why it hurts | What helps |
|---|---|---|
| More than a handful of accounts | Open windows and names blur, and the wrong profile gets opened | Software that opens, stops and organises profiles in bulk |
| Each account should sign in from one steady place | Every profile uses the computer's connection, and Pinterest names unusual locations and bursts of logins as strange activity | A proxy per profile; see proxy types explained and the time zone, language and IP guide |
| Several people need one brand account | Passwords and profile folders must not circulate | Business Manager roles |
| A task needs the mobile app | A browser profile cannot run an app | An Android phone profile |
None of this is a promise about how Pinterest treats an account; these are conveniences, not protections.
If a profile misbehaves
- You are logged out whenever the browser closes. Pinterest's cookie page says essential cookies let you log in and out, so check whether the browser clears cookies on exit.
- The wrong account is in a profile. Log out, log in to the right account, rename the profile, and clear cache and cookies in that profile if Pinterest keeps signing you in to the wrong one.
- An email mentions a login from an unrecognised computer or location. Pinterest's steps are Lock my account in the email and a password reset. Read the sign-in checks guide.
- You are unsure which accounts are connected. See the switching guide.
Where ADSSPEED fits
Ordinary profiles are a good start. ADSSPEED is a desktop app for Windows and macOS that manages many browser profiles: each keeps its own cookies, local data and browser settings, a proxy can be set per profile and assigned to many profiles in bulk, and profiles can be opened, stopped and organised in bulk. Profile data stays on your own computer, and Android phone profiles, each with its own device configuration, run mobile apps on a PC. Setup is in installing ADSSPEED on Windows. ADSSPEED is not affiliated with Pinterest.
Frequently asked questions
How do I log in to two Pinterest accounts at the same time on a computer?
There are two routes. Pinterest's own Connect accounts feature switches between accounts inside one browser session. A separate browser profile for each account keeps two accounts open side by side in separate windows, each with its own cookies.
Do separate Chrome profiles keep Pinterest logins apart?
For sign-in data, yes. Chrome says a profile keeps bookmarks, history, passwords and other settings separate, and Chromium stores cookies in the profile's own folder. Profiles do not change the computer or the internet connection, which are the same for every profile.
Can I use Firefox containers for Pinterest accounts?
Yes. Mozilla's Multi-Account Containers add-on keeps one container's cookies away from the others, so you can sign in to two accounts on the same site in two container tabs. History and bookmarks stay shared between containers.
How do I switch Pinterest accounts on a computer when I use profiles?
Between accounts in different profiles, use the browser's profile menu. In Chrome, select Profile and pick the profile you want. Inside one profile, Pinterest's own switcher is the arrow-down menu, but one account per profile avoids needing it.
Why am I logged in to the wrong Pinterest account?
Pinterest says different Pins or boards after logging in can mean the wrong account. Log out and log in again with the right credentials; if you are signed in to the wrong one automatically, clear the browser's cache and cookies in that profile.
Can I hand a Pinterest browser profile to a colleague?
For a brand's account, add the colleague in Business Manager so they use their own login. For your own account, Pinterest's Community Guidelines say not to share your password or let anyone access the account, so a profile with a live login should not be passed around.
