YouTube Multiple Channels and Accounts: What the Rules Allow and Forbid

By ADSSPEED Team · Published · Updated · 5 min read

Can you have more than one YouTube account or channel?

Yes. According to YouTube Help (read 3 October 2026), you can manage up to 100 channels from one Google Account, and creating a new channel from your channel list creates a Brand Account. Google's own help page also lets you stay signed in to several Google Accounts at once, and YouTube's Terms of Service note that some features, such as creating your own channel, need a Google account.

So the count is not the problem. The rules are about what you do with the channels: no using extra channels to get around a penalty, no inflated engagement, no impersonation, no automated access and no shared passwords.

What does YouTube forbid when you run several channels or accounts?

The statements below come from the English version of YouTube's Terms of Service, which shows an effective date of 15 December 2023, and from YouTube Help policy pages read on 3 October 2026.

BehaviourWhat the official page saysWhere
Using another channel to get around a strikeProhibited: you may not use, create or acquire another channel to get around the restrictionsStrike basics; Terms of Service
Using or creating channels after a terminationYou may not use, possess or create any other channel, or let people whose channels were terminated use yours to get around itChannel or account terminations
Automated accessNo robots, botnets or scrapers, except public search engines following robots.txt or with YouTube's prior written permissionTerms of Service
Interfering with the serviceNo working around, disabling, fraudulently engaging with or otherwise interfering with any part of it, including security featuresTerms of Service
Spam and deceptive practicesNo content, metadata or behaviour designed to take advantage of the community; the scope includes coordinated networks of channels, and mass-produced similar content made with automated tools or AISpam, deceptive practices, & scams policies
Artificial engagementNothing that artificially raises views, likes, comments or other metrics through automatic systems or by serving videos to unsuspecting viewersFake engagement policy
ImpersonationNo unauthorised impersonation of a person, entity or channel that may mislead viewersImpersonation policy

What happens when a rule is broken?

StageWhat YouTube says
First violationTypically only a warning
First strikeNo uploading videos or live streams, plus other restrictions, for 1 week
Second strikeNo posting content for 2 weeks
Third strike in the same 90-day periodThe channel may be permanently removed; each strike lasts 90 days from when it was issued
TerminationPossible after repeated violations, after a single case of severe abuse, or when a channel is dedicated to a policy violation
Account levelThe Terms let YouTube suspend or terminate your Google account or your access to the Service if you materially or repeatedly breach them

The termination page spells out how far a termination reaches: the ban on using, possessing or creating other channels applies to all of your existing channels, any new channels you create or acquire, and channels in which you are repeatedly or prominently featured. It also gives you up to 1 year from the termination to appeal, with a limit on how many appeals you can send (the English page says two within that year).

How do monetisation and ownership rules apply to several channels?

Monetisation. AdSense Help (read 3 October 2026) says its policies only allow one account per publisher, with an exception for a separate organisation entity. YouTube Help adds that you can monetise more than one channel with the same AdSense for YouTube account, that only one AdSense or AdSense for YouTube account is allowed under the same payee name, and that duplicates are not approved and switch monetisation off for the associated channel.

Responsibility. Google's Terms (effective 30 July 2026 as shown on the page) say you are responsible for what you do with your Google Account, including taking reasonable steps to keep it secure. YouTube's Terms tell you to keep your Google account password confidential and not to reuse it on third-party applications. They also say that if you use YouTube on behalf of a company or organisation, you represent that you have authority to act for it. For teams, that points to roles and permissions, not shared logins; see how to add a manager.

How do you stay inside the rules?

  1. Give each channel a real purpose. A brand, a language, a client. YouTube's spam page names mass-producing near-identical content with automated tools or AI as spam.
  2. Use roles, not passwords. Invite people with their own Google Accounts instead of sharing a login.
  3. Keep engagement human. YouTube treats engagement as legitimate when a human's main intent is to interact with the content authentically. Do not use any of your accounts to push your own numbers.
  4. Treat a penalty as an appeal. Opening or using another channel to get around a strike or termination is itself prohibited.
  5. Automate only through official routes. YouTube's API Services have their own terms, last updated 14 September 2026 according to the page, and one clause says you will not try to exceed or get around quota limits.
  6. Re-read before big changes. Terms and policy pages change; check the date shown on each.

What if you already have a strike or a termination?

  1. Read the email from YouTube. It states the reason.
  2. If you think it is a mistake, use the appeal option the strike and termination pages describe, and mind the one-year window for terminations.
  3. Do not create, acquire or borrow another channel in the meantime. The Terms call using another channel to get around a restriction a material breach.
  4. Remember the effect on your other channels. The termination page extends the ban to channels you already own.
  5. Check who holds which role on each channel, so you know who can act for it.

Where ADSSPEED fits

ADSSPEED does not change what YouTube allows. It is a desktop app for Windows and macOS that manages many browser profiles. Each profile keeps its own cookies, local data and browser settings, so channels you own or are authorised to manage can stay signed in side by side. Profiles can be opened, stopped and organised in bulk, and profile data stays on your own computer. Use it only within YouTube's rules. ADSSPEED is not affiliated with YouTube.

Frequently asked questions

Can I have two YouTube accounts with the same email?

One Google Account, which is tied to one email address, can manage several YouTube channels. According to YouTube Help (read 3 October 2026), the limit is up to 100 channels per Google Account, and a channel created from your channel list is set up as a Brand Account.

Is there a YouTube channel limit per account?

YouTube Help says you can manage up to 100 channels from one Google Account. The same page notes that only one channel is active at a time, and every channel stays subject to the same Terms and policies.

Can I use another channel after a strike or termination?

No. The strike page prohibits using, creating or acquiring another channel to get around the restrictions, and the termination page prohibits using, possessing or creating any other channel after a termination. The route YouTube describes is an appeal, within one year of a termination.

Can multiple YouTube channels share one AdSense account?

According to YouTube Help, you can monetise more than one channel with the same AdSense for YouTube account, but only one AdSense or AdSense for YouTube account is allowed per payee name. Duplicate accounts are not approved and monetisation is turned off for the associated channel.

Does YouTube allow bots or scripts to run my accounts?

YouTube's Terms of Service prohibit accessing the Service by automated means such as robots, botnets or scrapers, except public search engines following robots.txt or with YouTube's prior written permission. Programmatic access that YouTube offers goes through its API Services, which have their own terms.

Can I share my YouTube login with my team?

YouTube's Terms tell you to keep your Google account password confidential. Use channel permissions in YouTube Studio instead: YouTube Help describes them as safer than sharing a password, and each person signs in with their own Google Account.
