How to Manage KakaoTalk Channels and Kakao Business Accounts as a Team: Roles, Invites and Access
How do you manage KakaoTalk for a brand or team without sharing a login?
With roles, not with one shared account. The Kakao Account Terms in force since 30 September 2026 say an account may be used only by its holder, and that a business or organization Kakao Account can be used only by the one person in charge registered on it; sharing the ID is prohibited, and the account cannot be converted to a personal one or transferred. A Korean Help Center page gives the reason as security and dispute prevention, and says the business or organization is responsible for how the account is used. The Channel Operation Policy separately bans granting a third party access to your account.
So the practical model is: every person signs in with their own Kakao Account, and the account that owns the asset invites them. The pages cited here were read on 3 October 2026 and Kakao's policies change, so check the current text. Use only accounts you own or are authorised to manage, and follow KakaoTalk's rules (what Kakao's terms say about multiple accounts).
The roles on each Kakao tool
| Tool | Roles | Who invites | What Kakao's pages say |
|---|---|---|---|
| KakaoTalk Channel (Channel Partner Center, center-pf.kakao.com) | Master member and manager member | The master | The master is the member who first opened the channel; a manager is another member the master invited. Connecting a channel to an app needs master or manager permission |
| BizWallet, Kakao Business's cash wallet for paid services | BizWallet Master Member, BizWallet Member | Master Members | A master can invite a Master or Member, promote, demote, remove a Member, set the refund account and tax invoice email, rename or delete the wallet. A master who steps down needs another master to remain |
| Ad account (Kakao's advertising help pages) | One master, up to 99 members | The master only | All can run ads, check reports and charge budget; the master invites, removes or rejects members and accepts or rejects agency sales rights |
The Kakao Business Terms (effective 29 September 2026) also say the BizWallet master bears full responsibility for consequences of authority granted to members and administrators, so choose people deliberately. The same Terms make each member responsible for managing their Kakao Account and any additional authentication means, and require telling Kakao at once about unauthorised use.
Setting up team access, step by step
- Decide who will be master. For a channel, it is the member who first opens it.
- Have each teammate use their own Kakao Account. For an ad account, the invitee's email must be registered as a Kakao Account and the person must have agreed to switch to Kakao Business integrated membership, or the invitation is not possible.
- As master, invite them. In the Moment admin center the Korean help page gives the path Ad account > Settings > Ad account management > Member management > Invite, then enter the Kakao Account and confirm. A separate help page gives the same path for the keyword advertising admin center.
- Handle requests. Members can ask to join by searching an ad account ID or the master's Kakao Account; the master approves or rejects under Invitations and requests in Member management.
- Ask everyone to turn on 2-step verification. Kakao's Safety Guide says it is a dual security service that blocks logins even if the account name and password are known, can be set with KakaoTalk or a phone number, and supports a backup email.
- Write down who holds which role and which Kakao Account belongs to which person.
Security that suits shared work
- 2-step verification. KakaoTalk: More > Settings > Kakao Account > 2-Step Verification; on accounts.kakao.com: Account Security > 2-Step Verification.
- Login restriction by country. Kakao's pages say up to 3 login-permitted countries can be registered, and from other countries a login needs verification through a KakaoTalk message or an email code. Team members who travel will meet this.
- Check who is logged in. Kakao's help for suspected unauthorised access points to Manage Current Login Information on accounts.kakao.com, where you can log out sessions you do not recognise.
When someone leaves
- Ad account. The master can remove a member from Member management, for example when the team changes. A master can also transfer master authority to another member, so do that before the current master leaves.
- BizWallet. A master can remove a BizWallet Member. Under the Terms, a master can step down to Member only if at least one other master remains.
- Channel. The pages read for this guide define the master and manager roles but do not spell out the removal steps, so use the controls in the Channel Partner Center and check them with Kakao's help.
- If a password was ever shared. Change the Kakao Account password and review current logins, as in why KakaoTalk logs you out or asks to verify.
If it does not work
- You cannot invite someone to an ad account. Kakao says the invitee's email must be registered as a Kakao Account and they must have agreed to integrated Kakao Business membership; accounts not registered that way cannot be invited.
- A teammate is blocked when abroad. That is login restriction by country; Kakao's help says to verify through KakaoTalk or email, or to contact customer support if no verification method is available.
- The only master is unavailable. Kakao's pages describe master transfer for ad accounts and several Master Members for a BizWallet, so arrange succession before someone leaves. Agencies handling several clients can see the wider pattern in how agencies manage multiple client ad accounts.
Where ADSSPEED fits
ADSSPEED is a desktop app for Windows and macOS that manages many browser profiles. Each profile keeps its own cookies, local data and browser settings, so team members' Kakao web sign-ins, such as the Channel Partner Center, can stay signed in side by side without signing each other out. A proxy can be set per profile and assigned to many profiles in bulk, profiles can be opened, stopped and organised in bulk, and profile data stays on your own computer. It does not replace Kakao's roles or invitations. Use it only with accounts you own or are authorised to manage. ADSSPEED is not affiliated with KakaoTalk.
Frequently asked questions
Can a KakaoTalk business account be shared by a team?
No. The Kakao Account Terms say a business or organization account can be used only by the one registered person in charge, and sharing the ID is prohibited. Kakao's help page adds that Kakao accounts cannot be shared among several users. Teams use roles with their own Kakao Accounts.
Who is the owner of a KakaoTalk Channel?
Kakao's Channel Operation Policy, effective 1 September 2026, calls the member who first opened the channel the master member. A manager member is another member whom the master invited to the channel, so ownership and access follow Kakao Accounts, not a shared password.
What is the KakaoTalk Channel admin center?
Kakao's developer documentation names it the Kakao Talk Channel Partner Center at center-pf.kakao.com, where a channel is created. Connecting a channel to an app requires master or manager permission on that channel.
How many people can be added to a Kakao ad account?
Kakao's help says one ad account consists of one master and up to 99 members. Only the master can invite members, and an invitee's Kakao Account must be registered as a Kakao Business integrated member.
How do I remove someone who left the team?
For an ad account, the master removes the member in the Member Management tab of the admin center. For a BizWallet, Kakao Business Terms let a master remove a member, and a master who steps down needs another master to remain.
