How to Keep Kakao Accounts Separate on One PC With Browser Profiles (KakaoTalk Web Tools)
How do browser profiles help with several Kakao accounts?
They keep each Kakao Account's browser sign-in in its own cookie store. Kakao's help describes keeping a login as a browser feature: if you choose the option, you stay signed in until you log out or delete the browser's cookies. Kakao's developer FAQ adds that after a logout Kakao Account cookies can still remain in the browser, and you may then be logged in as the previous account. One browser profile per account removes that collision. This is general browser behaviour: Chromium's documentation says a profile's data, such as history, bookmarks and cookies, lives in its own subdirectory of the user data directory.
What a profile does not do is turn KakaoTalk chat into a multi-account tool. The Kakao pages cited here were read on 3 October 2026 and may change. Use only accounts you own or are authorised to manage, and follow KakaoTalk's rules (what Kakao's terms say).
| Piece | Does a browser profile separate it? | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Kakao Account login in a browser (accounts.kakao.com) | Yes | Saved logins and cookies belong to the profile; Kakao lists Chrome, Firefox, Edge and Safari as supported browsers |
| Kakao Business tools in a browser, such as the Channel Partner Center | Yes, for the sign-in session | The same cookie logic applies |
| KakaoTalk PC or Mac app | No | It is not a browser; Kakao says one PC or Mac at a time and mobile authentication |
| KakaoTalk on the phone | No | It follows the phone number and the account on the phone |
| Your location and country login rules | No | Kakao's country-based login checks apply whichever profile you use |
Not the same as KakaoTalk's multi-profile
KakaoTalk has an in-app feature with a similar name. Multi-profile lets one account show different profiles to different Kakao Talk friends, and Kakao's Help Center says you can create up to 3, from the settings icon on the Friends tab. It does not create a second account or a second login, and it has nothing to do with browser profiles.
Setting up one profile per account in Chrome
- List the accounts you are authorised to manage, who owns each, and which phone receives its verification messages.
- In Chrome, at the top right, select Profile and then Add Chrome profile. Choose a name, a photo and a colour, as the Chrome Help page describes.
- Name the profile after the account and its job, for example
BrandA-Channel-Mina. Use the pattern in the table below. - Inside that profile only, open accounts.kakao.com and sign in with that one account. If you choose to keep the login, Kakao advises doing so only on personal devices.
- Turn on 2-step verification for the account, which Kakao recommends, and check the current login information.
- Repeat for each account, and switch between them with the Profile menu at the top right.
| Name part | Example | Why it helps |
|---|---|---|
| Brand or client | BrandA | Tells accounts apart at a glance |
| Kakao tool | Channel, Ads | One profile per account and job |
| Responsible person | Mina | Shows who answers for it |
Edge, Firefox and other browsers have their own profile switchers, with menus worded differently; the principle is the same. Firefox also offers Containers, which Mozilla describes as giving each container a separate slice of storage so logged-in sessions do not carry over. Mozilla also lists history, bookmarks and saved passwords as shared between containers, so separate profiles are the stronger split.
Hand-over, backups and recovery
- Hand-over. Do not hand over a password. Invite the colleague with a role, as in managing KakaoTalk Channels and Kakao Business as a team.
- Leaving a device. Kakao says Easy Login information can be deleted in KakaoTalk (More > Settings > Kakao Account > Login Management > Easy Login Information Management > Delete) or on accounts.kakao.com (Account Security > Easy Login Information Management > Logout). If a device with a saved login is lost, delete it and change the password.
- Recovery details. Kakao's Safety Guide says 2-step verification can use KakaoTalk or a contact phone number, with a backup email for when the phone is unavailable. Keep those up to date for every account.
- Chat history. Back it up from the phone, as above, not from a browser profile.
When plain profiles stop being enough
Ordinary profiles cope with a handful of accounts. Past that, the work is repetitive: creating, naming and opening the same set of profiles, and keeping a proxy per profile tidy. One limit remains whatever tool you use: KakaoTalk chat belongs on the phone and the official PC or Mac app. Kakao's pages list using KakaoTalk in abnormal environments, for example computer system emulators, among the cases that can trigger user protection measures, so read why KakaoTalk logs you out or asks to verify before running it in any other setup. If it does not work
- The previous account opens. Delete the Kakao Account cookie in that profile and retry, as Kakao's developer FAQ advises, or delete the saved Easy Login entry.
- The keep-login option does nothing. Kakao says it is unavailable in private browsing and may be switched off after 30 days without a visit from the same browser.
- Extra verification appears after travel. Kakao's country-based login rules and its check for unusual environments both explain this; the steps are in the logout guide linked above.
Where ADSSPEED fits
ADSSPEED is a desktop app for Windows and macOS that manages many browser profiles. Each profile keeps its own cookies, local data and browser settings, so the Kakao web accounts you manage can stay signed in side by side without signing each other out. A proxy can be set per profile and assigned to many profiles in bulk, and profiles can be opened, stopped and organised in bulk. Profile data is kept on your own computer. It does not change Kakao's rules, and it is not a way to run KakaoTalk chat. Use it only with accounts you own or are authorised to manage. ADSSPEED is not affiliated with KakaoTalk.
Frequently asked questions
Does KakaoTalk have multiple profiles?
Yes, but that is an in-app feature, not a browser profile. KakaoTalk's multi-profile shows different profiles to different friends within one account, and Kakao's Help Center says you can create up to 3. A browser profile is a separate idea: it keeps browser sign-ins apart.
Can I use two KakaoTalk accounts on one PC?
Kakao's pages describe the PC version as usable on one PC or Mac at a time with mobile authentication, and describe no second-account mode. Browser profiles do not change that; they separate Kakao's browser logins such as the Kakao Account page.
Can you use KakaoTalk on a computer?
Yes, through Kakao's PC and Mac versions, which log in with your Kakao Account email and password or a QR code and rely on the phone for authentication. That app is not a browser, so browser profiles do not apply to it.
Why does my Kakao login open the previous account?
Kakao's developer FAQ says this can happen when Kakao Account cookies still remain in the web browser after a logout, and advises deleting the cookie and trying again. A separate browser profile per account keeps those cookies from being shared.
How do I back up KakaoTalk before changing phone or number?
Kakao's English Help Center page says to back up chat data in advance from More > Settings > Chats > Chat Backup on the phone. Chat history is backed up from the app, not from a browser profile.
